If You Cant Stand The Heat Things got progressivley worse as we headed toward`s autumn. Andy and Kev had stopped talking to each other and it was wearing everybody down.Something had to give. A breif respite to the troubles was a recording session that we all enjoyed. But thing`s werent the same. Kev did`nt turn up for the drum recording at Barrats and Andy was under the thumb big time. At the multi-traking session at Woo`s,Gecko`s favourite line was "Dont tell the Doris I`m here" Again,we was covering his arse big time. We played at the Maltster`s on Nov 16th.It was a great gig. But Phil and Andy were`nt happy with the beer mat throwing,me and Kev thought it was great. We did`nt know it at the time, but it was to be the last gig with Andy. The following Sunday,Andy turns up at Phil`s and annouces he`s leaving. He had been seceretly organising his next band and was joining his paperboy school chum Tony. They were planning to be the next pop rival`s. By now Phil was rehearsing with some friends but was not really happy with the new band. The only person he got on with, was the drummer,Paul. I was unsure what to do next. All I wanted was the band to be as it was and would`nt let go. News had got round and I was being tempted back into an old post Warehouse band called McQueen. But something was holding me back. I was determined Catch 23 would contine. Kev was in a daze.He thought nobody wanted to work with him and was contemplating putting an add out to get in a band. It just seemed there was no way back. It looked like the dream was over. Me Kev and Phil spent the next few weeks in limbo trying to find some way out of this deep, dark hole |

Jason and the Lagernauts Me and Phil started to cancel all the remaining gigs. On a trip over to the Maltster`s,we got talking at the bar. We mentioned the drummer had left.On hearing this comment,a regular of the pub and a follower of the band, came over and started chatting to us. Jason played drums,he liked our stuff and wondered if we were looking for some one. The conversation got interesting and we mentioned the gig we had just cancelled. I suggested that it would be great if we could still do it. We all agreed to have a practice before the gig and see if it would work. Via text,Kev agreed straight away,so we rebooked the gig there and then, with just over a week to go. The practice went well,so we thought let`s do it. The gig on Dec 14th went really well, with a classic punk version of White Xmas by Phil. The only problem was Jason`s electronic kit. It wasn`t really the Catch 23 sound. The landlord booked us for New Year`s Eve and it was left at that. We didnt offer Jason a permanent job.We all thought it would be temporary, even though he did a great job at such short notice. Phil could`nt make the gig so we had to cancel and thing`s weren`t looking too good for us as we headed for xmas and New Year |

I`m dreaming of a White Christmas.....1...2...3...4 Christmas rolled round and I was having a mare. My car had broke down,so I couldnt visit anybody. I was skint and I had no band. The only thread of hope was that me,Kev and Phil were determined to carry on reagardless and find that elusive missing person. To help keep my mind occupied I dived head first into the story that became this website. With the aid of a bottle of scotch and my trusty keyboard,I dug deep into my memory and bared my soul....oh err missus We celebrated Kev` 40th birthday by getting him a walking stick,a pipe and some slipper`s. By this time Phil and been making noise`s to his new drummer friend about having a practice with us. At first Paul was reluctant and did not want to upset his band mate`s,who were also good friends, but he was starting to show interest. Him and Phil had connected in a way that me and Phil had over 2 years previous. We were also having stand in offer`s from other people, like my old friend from the Warehouse day`s,Owen. Also, word was spreading about our dilema and friend`s of friends knew about drummer`s looking for band`s. Amazing when you consider we had`nt even advertised yet. Where was this all leading......? Mr.Flip and Mr.Flop made up for quiet xmas,by having a blinding New Year`s Eve at the Wheatsheaf. While we were there, people kept asking when we was going back on the road. The legend refused to die.
